We have successfully completed contracts for the construction of electric bus charging infrastructure in seven Croatian cities: Zagreb, Pula, Šibenik, Split, Ludbreg, Krapina and Sisak.

These projects mark an important step towards modernising public transport, improving energy efficiency and reducing CO₂ emissions in urban areas. The total value of the completed works exceeds EUR 12.5 million, with the projects financed through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026.

KONČAR Inc. participated in the projects as an integrator of a complete solution, from the design and construction of power infrastructure to the implementation of digital management and monitoring systems. As part of the projects, the entire electrical infrastructure was delivered, including connections to the distribution network, transformer and switchgear facilities, monitoring and control systems, as well as a total of 196 charging points for electric buses.

A particularly important aspect of the project was the implementation of the PROZA MARS CPMS (Charge Point Management System), which enables centralised monitoring and management of all charging stations. The system optimises charging processes, dynamically allocates available power, balances peak loads and provides real-time visibility of vehicle and charger status. This allows public transport operators to reliably plan fleet operations while achieving maximum energy efficiency. The system itself was developed in-house by KONČAR – Digital.

By delivering these projects, KONČAR has once again confirmed its position as a leading regional partner in power engineering, digitalisation and sustainable mobility. By combining expertise in energy, automation and electric vehicle charging infrastructure, we continue to actively support the transition of Croatian cities towards more environmentally friendly public transport.
