Reconstruction of the 110 kV substation at Glina substation
This month marked the successful completion of a demanding reconstruction project of the 110 kV substation at the Glina substation.
The project was successfully delivered by HELB, a member of KONČAR Group, once again confirming its expertise and reliability in executing complex power engineering projects.
It is worth recalling that a series of earthquakes in 2020 caused significant damage to civil, electrical and mechanical equipment at the 110/20 kV Glina substation, operated by the Croatian Transmission System Operator (HOPS), in the Sisak-Moslavina County area.

The project included a comprehensive modernisation of the existing facility, including the dismantling of obsolete equipment and the removal of external steel structures, thereby creating the conditions for the implementation of advanced technological solutions.
As part of the works, new reinforced concrete foundations were constructed, and new steel structures were installed in line with current standards and technical requirements. Particular emphasis was placed on the installation of new 110 kV equipment to ensure higher reliability, efficiency and operational safety of the substation. In addition, a new operational building for HOPS was constructed, providing the necessary conditions for the management and supervision of the power infrastructure.

The works were completed within the planned timeframe and to high quality standards, and the reconstructed facility was successfully commissioned. With the completion of the project, the stability and security of the transmission network in the area have been significantly improved.
