KONČAR traditionally awards the best students from the Zagreb University of Applied Sciences under the motto ‘the best investment is the one in people’. The award was set up in April 2003 and it is given to the most successful students of vocational studies in Electrical Engineering, Computing, Information Technologies and Mechatronics, for achievements in the previous academic year. This year thirteen students were awarded.

On the occasion of KONČAR Day a donation is made for educational, cultural, scientific and social purposes. This year, the recipient of the donation is Foundation – Children’s Oncology Rebro, for the purpose of construction and furbishment of the new department of pediatric hematology and oncology at the University Hospital Centre Zagreb.

The department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology is a reference centre of Croatia’s Ministry of Health. It is in charge of treating all types of blood and malignant diseases in children under the age of 18 and it is the only institution in Croatia which conducts allogeneic bone marrow transplantation.
