As part of the contract, KONČAR will deliver automatic safety equipment for 49 level crossings and one pedestrian crossing, which will be installed at 50 locations across Croatia. Alongside companies from the KONČAR Group, the project also includes external partners.

The contract covers the preparation of a detailed design, the manufacturing of the equipment, as well as all field work, including testing the equipment and putting it in operation at all locations.

The project is to be completed by August 2021. It will consist of five stages, and each stage will include the installation of the equipment at ten locations. The value of the contract is more than HRK 72 million.

This is why we are continuously working on providing better and more effective protection by promoting reliable safety solutions through electronic devices that meet the high-level safety requirements of SIL4 (Safety integrity level 4). It was in 1998 that we developed and installed the first generation of level crossing safety devices, and to this day more than 100 of them have been put in operation. By implementing the latest technology to perfect the devices over the years, experts from the KONČAR Group have developed and produced the third-generation safety device for level crossings. The KLC3 type devices conform with the highest level CENELEC safety standards SIL4 and their technical specifications are in accordance with the standards of HŽ Infrastruktura”, said Goran Leci, PhD, President of the Managing Board at KONČAR – Power Plant and Electric Traction Engineering.
