A century of excellence

Today KONČAR is celebrating 100 years of successful business. As a regional leader in electrical energy and traction vehicles industry, we are proud to be one of Croatia’s largest exporters and among some of the longest-lived Croatian companies.

Our story began on 24 January 1921, with the establishment of the company “Elektra”. The same year, the company became member of Siemens Group and went on to operate under that name until the end of World War II.

100 years of KONČAR

In the period from 1946 to 1990, the company operated under the name “Rade Končar”, and since 1 January 1991 it has been a joint stock company known as KONČAR – Electrical Industry Inc. The name KONČAR is nowadays recognised world-wide and stands for high quality and reliability.

Ready to face all the challenges that the future may bring, KONČAR is looking forward to another 100 years of success.
