The professional programme was further enriched by KORMAT, the 27th International Conference on Materials Protection and Finishing, as well as a key industry seminar “Welding Coordinators”, organised by the Croatian Welding Society in cooperation with the Chair of Welded Structures at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture in Zagreb.

Our esteemed colleagues from the welding supervision department, Petra Komazec, IWE/EWE, IWIP-C, and Denis Matija, IWE/EWE, made a valuable contribution to the seminar through their presentation titled “Transformer Tank Bridge Cranes According to EN 15085: What Lies Behind the Requirements?”. The topic is of particular importance for welding and transformer tank manufacturing, as EN 15085 is one of the key standards ensuring the quality, safety, and reliability of welded structures. Through their presentation, participants gained deeper insight into the standard’s requirements, as well as the challenges of its practical implementation in an industrial environment, which is especially relevant for welding engineers and professionals involved in production processes.

The seminar attracted significant interest, and the presentation prompted a constructive discussion and exchange of professional experience. Events such as this once again highlight the importance of continuous professional development and knowledge sharing within the welding community.
