Successful type testing completed for Vidraru hydropower plant rehabilitation project

In April, we successfully completed key type tests for the 12 kV switchgear as part of the rehabilitation project of the Vidraru hydropower plant in Romania.

The project involves BVK-type medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear panels. Based on our long-standing experience in the development and manufacturing of similar switchgear solutions, we developed a product with highly demanding technical specifications, featuring a rated current of 4000 A and a short-circuit withstand current of 63 kA/1 s. The switchgear was designed in accordance with the AFLR 63 kA internal arc classification, ensuring a high level of safety for both personnel and equipment.

All tested panels successfully passed the required type tests at KEMA Laboratories, confirming their reliability and compliance with the project’s stringent technical requirements.

The first deliveries of the switchgear panels are scheduled for July 2026, after which the project will enter its final implementation phase.
