Today, KONČAR – Power Plant and Electric Traction Engineering (KET) signed a contract for the refurbishment of the 110kV substation Prilep 1, making it the third contract in this investment cycle made by the Macedonian electricity transmission system operator, AD MEPSO.
The contract was signed by Sašo Vasilevski, General Manager at AD MEPSO, and Branislav Leković, Financial Director Advisor and representative of KONČAR – Power Plant and Electric Traction Engineering (KONČAR-KET).
The signing ceremony was attended by Goran Sugareski, Minister of Transport and Communications, and Iliji Jovanovski, mayor of Prilep. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of this project not only for the modernisation of the transmission grid, but also for the local community.
Her Excellency Danijela Barišić, Croatian Ambassador to Macedonia, stressed the importance of new contracts concluded by KONČAR in Macedonia and the strengthening of the cooperation between Croatian and Macedonian companies.
The 110kV substation Prilep is an important junction in the Macedonian power grid. The contract for the refurbishment of the substation, worth over 1 million euros, was concluded in consortium with the Macedonian company ELTEK from Skopje, which will perform local electrical installation works. The project includes the refurbishment of the primary equipment on 110kV, the installation of the secondary protection and control equipment, the SCADA system, as well as the above mentioned electrical installation works, design, testing and commissioning.
